If you’re a PC gamer, you’ll know that you need to make a pretty significant investment in the right equipment if you want to get the best possible experience. Many PC gamers would argue that you really need a gaming rig based around a desktop PC for the kind of adaptability and power that makes gaming in this form great, but that’s not necessarily true – not anymore at least!
Gaming laptops have come a long way, and there are a few that can compete with the PC, with the added bonus that you can pick them up and take them anywhere you go!
If you’re thinking about buying a gaming laptop right now, here are some of the best on the market:
The Acer Predator 21 X
You’ll need deep pockets if you want to buy this Behemoth of gaming laptops, which comes in at a tad under $9000, but if you can afford it, this 21-inch laptop is the Rolls Royce of laptops. I mean, this thing is so powerful that it requires not one, but two power supplies. It’s also the first laptop to include a curved screen and is does play as well as a decent PC rig. However, it does have one major downside – the fact that it weighs 8.8 kilos, which means although it is portable, it isn’t exactly the easiest thing to lug around. Still, it’s much more portable than your PC!
The Dell Inspiron 7000 Gaming
Thankfully, you don’t have to spend quite do much money on a decent gaming laptop, the Dell Inspiron 7000 Gaming laptop being a prime example. This entry level laptop starts at a modest $749, increasing as you add extras, and can be even cheaper with the various Dell laptop deals you can find online. That’s good news because this laptop features a decent 8.5 hours of battery life, Nvidia GTX 1050 graphics cards and solid state drives of up to 128GB, and 16 Gigabytes of RAM, which is more than enough for the average gamer to have fun on the go.
The HP Omen 15
The HP Omen 15 is another affordable choice at $799, and for that price, you can expect to get a device that is light – it weighs just 2.2kg – has a reasonable 15.6-inch screen, multiple ports for connecting your kit and a whole TB of storage. Not only that, but it has an i7 quad core processor, and if you buy it with a mouse and headphones, you will get a better deal. Unfortunately, it only has a five-hour average battery life; although HP has said it can last for up to 10 hours, this is unlikely unless you’re playing the most basic of games.
The Alienware 13
Weighing 2.6 kg with a 13.3-inch screen, this is not the biggest or lightest gaming laptop, but it’s futuristic design, 6-10 hours battery life and amazing OLED screen are enough to make it a contender. Oh, it’ll only set you back around $1099 too!
Happy gaming!
