Blockchain Stands Up Against Cyber-Crime at the Next HackIT Event

Cyber-crime has become a true menace in today’s digitally-driven world. In fact, hackers have been able to hit almost every economic sector within the last two years, so the need for new solutions have risen as a ‘must’ for governments and companies alike. New emerging technologies such blockchain have been seen to potentially drop the attacks rate while making data much safer. It is precisely this technology, the blockchain and its capabilities as a security measure, the main protagonist on this year’s HackIT Forum: ‘Exploit Blockhain’. An event coming up the next October 8 to 11 to Kyiv in Ukraine.

HackIT is all about bringing hackers and crypto community together.” The event’s motto is clear as crystal in its premise, it is an open forum where major blockchain experts, White Hat Hackers and security specialists will share their opinions on cyber-security. There will be no trace on company’s salespersons or marketing purposes sneaking upon it. It will be all about security, and how blockchain, and hence cryptocurrencies, can help towards that task.

In order to do so, the host of the event, Hacken, a global company whose interests lie in cybersecurity products, has set up an all-in non-conventional gathering, trying to approach the topic in different ways. “HackIT is not a boring vendor’s exhibition. Leading industry experts, practical lessons, strategic networking, effective insides and awesome community to spend time with will make the most of Kiev’s Congress Centre,” they said at Hacken.

They stated that their mission is to become a place for strong security networking of professional tech developers and leading security experts. They aim to bring up new knowledges, best solutions, ideas sharing while creating an unique opportunity to take part in a true new methodology conception.

Along the 4-days the event will be on for, there are planned many activities where to make it happen. Starting up with the ‘Hacken Cup’ marathon on October 8. This has been described as an on-site bug bounty marathon where 20 White Hat Hackers will race on to try to find bugs, back-doors or vulnerabilities within a given company’s security system. Developer teams will have the chance to exchange experience with top security researchers, receive a day of offline bug bounty and cybersecurity consulting and one month of online bug bounty at the HackenProof platform.

Workshops about cybersecurity, growing connections through Networking and Round Tables with top experts, will be also available for assistants throughout the event in the next two days.

At last but not least, HackIT will also have the honour to host conferences from top-level security experts. The last days, more than 32 speakers will share their latest insights about security and how new technologies, the likes of blockchain, are disrupting the way this subject is being treated and even faced off.

Attendees will have the chance to brush shoulders with cybersecurity pioneers such as Michael Schloh Von Bennewitz, one of the masterminds behind the cryptocurrency Monero; Renaud Lifchitz, IoT Security Expert at Econocom Digital Security; Ameer Rosic, co-founder of blockchain specialized site Blockgeeks and even the very founder of intelligenthq and Ztudium, Dinis Guarda, among others.

The event’s host, Hacken has done a terrific job gathering such expert line-up and users to the forum and presenting a totally different approach to the matter. “This year HackIT emphasizes blockchain technologies as a cybersecurity tool. In the next decade blockchain technology will affect all areas of the information industry, of course, that cybersec is no exception. Therefore, we consider it important to familiarize the community with the possibilities of blockchain and demonstrate the practical use of this technology for protection, ” Hacken CEO, Dmitry Budorin recently said.

Hackers threat not only ordinary users but also governments and companies alike, seeking to breach their security measures and able to steal or kidnap private data more often than desired. While concerns about cybersecurity keep exponentially rising, due to a larger amount of stored data, few events bring together hackers, cybersecurity specialists and company’s representatives to share ideas of how to face this increasingly worrying fear, at least not like the way HackIT will do it the next October 8 – 11 in Kyiv, Ukraine.
